Saturday, November 10th
Inverness v Hearts (Noon)
Home win: 33/20 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 29/20
Key stat: Hearts have scored just four goals in their six away league games.
Betting tip: With financial problems off the pitch, Hearts’ worries could get a whole lot worse away to Inverness. They lost 1-0 to bottom side Dundee last week for the second time this year and against better opposition could again struggle to score. Back a home clean sheet at 13/5.
Kilmarnock v Ross County (3.00pm)
Home win: 13/10 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 37/20
Key stat: These two drew 0-0 in their last meeting, but have scored a combined 25 goals in their seven games since.
Betting tip: We shouldn’t expect another goalless match between these sides. Since drawing on September 1st, each team has only failed to score in one of their seven games since. This all suggests a both teams to score bet is well worth a punt at odds of 3/4.
Motherwell v Dundee (3.00pm)
Home win: 2/5 Draw: 3/1 Away win: 25/4
Key stat: Dundee have just two wins this season and they lost to Motherwell the week after the first of those.
Betting tip: Dundee’s only two victories have come against Hearts and the bottom-placed side will be confident after last week’s second win over the Edinburgh side. But they played Motherwell the week after their first win and lost 2-1. Could they follow their second win with another 2-1 loss to the Steelmen? The odds are 31/4 if you think yes.
St Mirren v Aberdeen (3.00pm)
Home win: 2/1 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 6/5
Key stat: Aberdeen have now conceded first in four of their last five games.
Betting tip: With St Mirren losing four SPL matches on the trot, a vocal home support won’t stand for anything less than a good performance on Saturday. Expect the Saints to hit the ground running by scoring first at 6/5 against an Aberdeen team that has started recent games slowly.
Sunday, November 11th
Hibernian v Dundee United (12.45pm)
Home win: 29/20 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 8/5
Key stat: Hibernian have scored in every league game since losing 3-0 to United on the opening day.
Betting tip: That 3-0 Dundee United win on the SPL’s first day was the kick-start Hibernian needed and has certainly worked, with the Edinburgh side now in second place and level on points with league leaders Celtic. A punt on at least one home goal, priced at 1/4, looks a very safe one.
Celtic v St Johnstone (3.00pm)
Home win: 11/50 Draw: 9/2 Away win: 9/1
Key stat: St Johnstone haven’t scored on their last three Celtic Park visits.
Betting tip: These two sides met as recently as last week in the League Cup. The result that night was a huge 5-0 win for Celtic and with the Bhoys also beating the Saints to nil in the two previous home games before that – and on a high after their spectacular win against Barcelona – it would be no surprise if we see another Celtic win to nil at 19/20.
