Whenever one of the Glasgow giants visit Caledonian Stadium, goals are invariably on the agenda.
That might not be the case this weekend given that each of Inverness’ last six SPL games has seen fewer than 2.5 goals.
With Rangers struggling to find the back of the net since their financial difficulties forced them to sell Nikica Jelavic on deadline day, a bet on another game with under 2.5 goals makes a lot of sense at odds of 11/10.
Rangers are still a strong side and boast a terrific away record, winning ten of their 13 away games this SPL season.
Bearing the woes of the visitors in mind, we could see a shock home win on Sunday. The odds on that are 4/1, and with the Gers losing two of their last three fixtures, an upset might not be too big a surprise.
More likely for Inverness, though, is a share of the spoils. Terry Butcher’s side drew with Rangers twice last season and the odds on another draw are 27/10.
With the scoreline being 1-1 in both those draws from last season, odds of 6/1 could tempt punters into betting on another 1-1 scoreline come the full-time whistle on Sunday.
However, Rangers are still a strong side and boast a terrific away record, winning ten of their 13 away games this SPL season. The odds on them to pick up away win number 11 are 13/20 and this remains the most likely outcome.
As mentioned, though, this could be a low-scoring affair. That makes a bet on a Rangers win with fewer than 2.5 combined goals in the match, at 7/2, a bet worth looking at.
