Both Hearts and Rangers have won three games on the bounce coming into their fixture at Tynecastle, setting up an interesting contest.
Home side Hearts are priced at 21/10 to pick up a fourth successive victory against a visiting Gers side who they defeated 2-1 at Ibrox last month.
The odds on a repeat of that 2-1 scoreline, the same scoreline Hearts have won their last two fixtures by, are 10/1.
Of their last 12 meetings with Hearts, the Gers have won eight of them.
While Rangers’ form has improved slightly since their extremely poor run following their announcement of administration, Ally McCoist must still worry about his defence, which has conceded in nine consecutive matches.
That makes a bet on Hearts to score at least once, at 9/25, appear to be one of the safest bets of the weekend.
But Rangers are favourites with bwin and no wonder. Of their last 12 meetings with Hearts, the Gers have won eight of them.
That would seem to justify their odds of 5/4 to take all three points. It is also worth noting that Hearts’ SPL form after their cup matches has been disappointing.
The Tynecastle side have lost three of the four SPL games that have immediately followed their last four Scottish Cup fixtures.
That makes a win for Hearts to follow last week’s semi-final triumph appear even less likely.
A draw in Saturday’s match is priced at 11/5, but with the home side not drawing a match in their last six, and with Rangers last sharing the spoils 11 matches ago, a better bet could be a Double Chance bet on there to simply be a winner.
That bet is given odds of 13/50, meaning any new customer to bwin.com who decides to use their free £25 punt here would win £31.50, so long as the match does not end up a draw.
Recommended bet: Rangers to beat Hearts @ 5/4
Win for either Hearts or Rangers @ 13/50
Hearts to score at least once @ 9/25
