Celtic will look to record an amazing 17th straight domestic win this evening as they return to Tynecastle – the scene of their last defeat in October.
Back then, gaffer Neil Lennon was under huge pressure after a 2-0 reverse against Hearts and the disappointing draws against Kilmarnock and Hibernian that followed.
Now they are winning and winning convincingly, which makes it no surprise to see them at a short 13/20 to get the job done in the capital this time.
The Bhoys, who have won their last 12 SPL matches, have also gone seven away games in a row without conceding, which makes a Celtic win to nil look a great bet at odds of 8/5.
And with four of those last seven away wins ending 2-0, a bet on Celtic to flip Hearts’ winning result from October on its head would earn new customers to bwin.com £181.25 at odds of 25/4 if this scoreline materialises.
Lennon’s men also have the added incentive of knowing that victory this evening would put them four points clear of Rangers at the top of the table, having both played the same number of games.
Hearts have been in good form themselves, however, and as Celtic’s last conquerors, they will hope to take three points to help their push for Europa League qualification.
They are priced at 17/4 to win and considering they are undefeated in five matches at home, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that they could pull off a shock.
Perhaps more likely than a Hearts win, though, would be a share of the spoils. A disappointing Scottish Cup draw with St Johnstone last week saw Hearts losing their early lead late in the second half.
The odds on a similar run of play this week could earn punters a huge return, with odds of 31/2 for Hearts to take the half-time lead, but end up tying the match.
The odds on there to simply be a draw, no matter what the run of play is, are 5/2.
Finally, in their six games over the past two seasons these two haven’t played a game where both sides have scored. So it could be worth a punt, at odds of 4/5, on at least one team to fail to hit the back of the net in this one.
