Football betting fans are in for a treat this week, with four of the biggest clubs in Russia going head-to-head in two capital-based derbies.
One of those games will see Spartak Moscow face bitter rivals Dinamo at the Luzhniki Stadium and bwin’s odds of 3/2 say the home side will emerge victorious.
Valery Karpin’s men have lost just one of their last five games and tasted derby success last time out with a 2-0 win over Lokomotiv.
However, Sergei Silkin’s charges have taken ten points from the last 15 available, while Wednesday’s hosts have amassed just eight over the same period.
Dinamo are also undefeated in their last five meetings with Spartak, winning three and drawing two.
As such, the 17/10 odds on an away win could prove tempting for a number of football betting enthusiasts, as could the 11/5 odds on the game ending as a draw.
A win for Spartak could see CSKA Moscow’s lead at the top of the Russian Premier Liga cut to just two points, if they slip up against Lokomotiv in the other midweek Moscow derby.
Likewise, a win for Dinamo would see them overtake Lokomotiv and make up ground on CSKA in the race to be Moscow’s premier club should the other match end as a draw.
With Spartak proving something of a bogey side for Dinamo, a number of fans could look to the goal bet markets in order to secure longer football betting odds.
Last time out, the two sides battled to a 1-1 draw and odds of 25/4 can be had on the same outcome this time round.
Odds of 17/2 are available on a 1-0 win for Dinamo, while 2-0 and 3-0 successes for the away side, which have both been seen in recent history, are priced at 23/2 and 25/1 respectively.
Another reason to back the outside bet on this occasion is the scoring record boasted by Dinamo.
While the Policemen have been far from prolific, laying claim to a goal difference of just +2, in Aleksandr Samedov and Andriy Voronin they have two competent strikers who have combined to score seven goals so far this term.
By way of contrast, Spartak have been over reliant on Artem Dzubya for goals this term and even he has managed just four in 14 games.
As such, despite the betting odds, punters could be swayed to take a punt on an away win for Dinamo Moscow.
