Norwich odds of 13/1 to beat Chelsea tomorrow point towards a one-sided affair at Stamford Bridge.
The Canaries picked up two draws in their opening two league games of the season, but any momentum built was quickly dissipated with a 4-0 home defeat to MK Dons in the Carling Cup second round on Tuesday.
While 11 changes were made to the Norwich team for the MK Dons match, the starting XI nevertheless contained the likes of Russell Martin, Wes Hoolahan, Zak Whitbread and Daniel Ayala, all of whom can be expected to feature heavily for the Canaries in the Premier League over the next few months.
There are therefore serious doubts over the ability of Norwich to keep the likes of Fernando Torres and Juan Mata quiet when they struggled to deal with Dean Bowditch and Luke Chadwick.
Chelsea’s impressive record at home in the Premier League last season also points to a victory for Andre Villas-Boas’ side, although there appears little value in backing Chelsea to win in bwin’s 3Way football betting market given their odds of 11/50.
However, a £10 stake on the Blues to win returns £11.80 and you can bet on them to take all three points here.
The Blues dropped points in only five of their 19 games at the Bridge in the 2010-11 campaign, with three draws and two defeats.
They scored more than two goals a game on average on home turf and conceded just 13, suggesting that even a draw at 9/2 could be beyond the Canaries.
Indeed, the recent head-to-head record between the two teams indicates Norwich could be on the end of a heavy defeat.
The last three meetings between Chelsea and Norwich at Stamford Bridge have ended 4-0 to the home side, with a repeat scoreline tomorrow available at 9/1.
A successful £25 free bet on Chelsea to beat Norwich 4-0, available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account, would return £250.
Meanwhile, Norwich have only scored once against the Blues in their last seven meetings, with odds of 67/100 available on them to draw another blank.
And with Fernando Torres slowly coming into form, it could be time to back the Spaniard to score the first goal of the match at 11/4.
