The gossip wafting out of the rumour mill cooling towers this morning has a distinct Arsenal feel about it.
Salivating Gooners needn’t read on, though, for the subjects in today’s mid-morning chit-chat compilation concern targets of the north Londoners going elsewhere.
Mario Balotelli – 3/10 to be a Liverpool player on 02/09/14
Widespread reports indicate the Reds have opened discussions with AC Milan over a move for the enigmatic Italian, who Arsenal courted in the run up to and during the World Cup.
Brendan Rodgers wants the former Manchester City man on loan, but it’s thought that the Rossoneri would prefer a permanent switch.
It doesn’t look like their differing standpoints will prevent Balotelli moving to Anfield, though, according to the odds.
Radamel Falcao – 4/5 to be a Real Madrid player on 02/09/14
Assuming Liverpool snare Balotelli, their interest in the Colombian sharpshooter will subside, but a loan deal for the Monaco man remains an option for the Merseysiders at present.
A reported £12m is what it’ll cost to borrow the Monaco man, which isn’t going to appeal to the Reds moneymen, hence his meaty 4/1 price to join Liverpool.
The player wants a return to the Spanish capital and is the final name remaining on Carlo Ancelotti’s wishlish, so expect Los Blancos to land their primary target.
Sami Khedira – 11/4 to be a Bayern Munchen player on 02/09/14
With the arrival of countryman Toni Kroos, there doesn’t look to be a lot of room for Khedira at the Bernabeu.
However, FCB president Franz Beckenbauer has stated that the World Cup-winner would ‘fit in well’ at the Allianz Arena and with the Bundesliga behemoths in need of a holding-midfielder, a late-August bid is not out of the question.
