Aston Villa are 11/10 to dust themselves down from the hiding they received against Southampton and beat Burnley in their last match before the FA Cup Final.
Tim Sherwood will demand a response from his men against the Clarets and with places in the starting lineup at Wembley at stake, it’s unlikely he’ll be disappointed.
Their visitors, 9/4 for victory themselves, are unlikely to be in any mood to disappoint favourite backers, having won just three of their 20 outings in 2015.
However there is a better bet to be had on the fixture, one that has hit the bullseye in Burnley’s last 11 matches in succession.
Not since Sean Dyche’s side went to Old Trafford in early February have they been involved a match that has produced more than two goals.
As a result the 83/100 about under 2.5 goals at Villa Park looks like a very generous price from the bwin layers, especially when it’s considered that nine of the aforementioned fixtures would also have rewarded under 1.5 strikes backers.
At a 23/10 that’s more than double the odds on the home win, the latter wager also makes plenty of appeal.
Under 2.5 backers were rewarded when the sides shared a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor earlier in the campaign, but it’s fair to observe Villa have become a lot more cavalier since replacing Paul Lambert with Sherwood – five of their eight home games under the new boss would have thwarted the wager.
Yet Burnley have limited better attacks than the Villans, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all kept honest during their 11-match unders run, while they’ve failed to score against more porous defences.
