Champions Leicester have booted the Premier League back underway at Hull, with much of the top flight making their seasonal debuts in the traditional 3pm time slot.
There’ll be plenty of debutants on show, with the three goal-getters below of significant punting interest:
This 31-year-old striker, nicknamed ‘El Rey Leon’ or ‘The Lion King’ in his native Spain, bagged on his first start for old club Juventus three years ago, Llorente’s last opening-day fixture with long-time employers Atheltic Bilbao in 2012, and three games into his only campaign with Sevilla last term.
Llorente is practically assured of making Swans chief’s Francesco Guidolin’s first XI for the trip to Burnley, with the departure of forwards Andre Ayew, Eder and Bafetimbi Gomis from south Wales this summer, and fellow new Spanish signing Borja Baston not available in the north west.
With that in mind, Llorente looks the part for an anytime effort.
Last season’s Championship top scorer took a while to get warmed up in the latter part of last term, but the 25-year-old’s lethal when he gets going.
Five of Gray’s last seven Championship efforts in 2015/16 signalled the end of scoring in their specific matches, with just one of that septet an opener, so backing the Clarets hitman to bag late makes sense.
Kudos to this Dutch centre-forward for making a £17m switch to start the season second-choice at Spurs, after topping the Eredivisie scoring charts with a mammoth tally of 27 goals for AZ last term.
Janssen will have to work even harder to shift England man Harry Kane from his White Hart Lane striking perch, but a late goal at Goodison would be a fine message to boss Mauricio Pochettino.
