Two out-of-form teams meet at the Stadium of Light on Saturday when Sunderland take on West Bromwich Albion.
West Brom have lost four out of six in the Premier League and have won just once, leaving them languishing in the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, the Black Cats’ defeat to Norwich on Monday means they have now lost three of their opening six Premier League games.
That said, Sunderland’s last performance at the Stadium of Light will give them confidence and means they go into the match as 23/20 favourites to take all three points, with West Brom at 23/10 in bwin’s 3Way football betting market and a draw similarly priced.
Steve Bruce’s men brushed aside Stoke 4-0 on 18th September to record their only win of the season so far and they will be looking to build on this on Saturday.
However, don’t expect there to be as many goals at the Stadium of Light as there were two weeks ago, particularly in the first half.
Sunderland stormed to a 3-0 lead at the interval against Stoke, although in their five other Premier League matches this campaign there were fewer than 1.5 goals in the first half.
Meanwhile, four out of six of West Brom’s games have featured less than 1.5 goals in the opening 45 minutes, and odds of 21/50 are offered by bwin on this run continuing.
That said, all of West Brom’s Premier League goals have come in the first half so far this season, meaning another good bet could be on the Baggies scoring more goals before the interval than in the second period at odds of 13/5.
And with Sunderland more likely to score in the second half, the match pattern could see Sunderland coming from behind to win.
As such, a bet on West Brom to be ahead at the interval before succumbing to a second-half Sunderland onslaught looks an appealing outside option at 28/1.
A successful £25 free bet on West Brom to be ahead at the break and Sunderland to be leading at the final whistle would return £725, with the free bet available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account.
