With two league games remaining to secure their top-flight safety, QPR will have to put last weekend’s 6-1 demolition at the hands of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to the back of their minds as they host a Stoke City side with relatively little left to play for.
In contrast to their abysmal form away from home this season, the Rs have started to show some fighting spirit at Loftus Road in recent weeks, chalking up four successive victories in west London over Liverpool, Arsenal, Swansea and Tottenham.
Mark Hughes’s side head into the game at odds of 17/20 to record what would be a valuable win in their quest for Premier League survival, with the draw priced at 5/2.
Meanwhile, a win for the Potters is 31/10 in bwin’s 3Way football betting market.
Tony Pulis’s side head into the match with just one victory from their previous nine league games, losing four and drawing five of the remaining games in this sequence.
In their last two home matches the Rs have gone into the break leading before going on to secure maximum points, and it is priced at 37/20 that Hughes’s side repeat this feat once again.
Their most recent game saw them draw at home to Everton last weekend in a 1-1 stalemate.
The Potters’ form on the road in particular leaves a lot to be desired, with the Staffordshire club having picked up maximum points on just four occasions away from the Britannia this term, the last coming against Blackburn in a 2-1 win at the beginning of January.
The Rs will also take hope from the fact that they have already beaten their visitors this season, emerging 3-2 victors when the two sides met back in November, and this provides the Hoops with their last chance to record a double over a club this season.
With two clean sheets from their previous four home games, backing Rangers to win to nil at 11/5 should certainly be considered, with a home win of 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 also looking a great bet at odds of 12/5 in the multiple correct score market.

Alternatively, in their last two home matches the Rs have gone into the break leading before going on to secure maximum points, and it is priced at 37/20 that Hughes’s side repeat this feat once again.
In the goalscoring market, QPR’s Adel Taarabt is an attractive price at 6/1 to open the scoring as he did in successes over the Gunners and Spurs, as he looks set to return to the side following the one match suspension he served last weekend.
Forward Djibril Cisse has either scored or been sent off in all of his performances since joining the club in January, including a consolation goal at Stamford Bridge, and is priced at 3/2 favourite to score at anytime in the game.
With a trip to title contenders Manchester City to follow this fixture, anything other than a win for the R’s could spell relegation, and given their performances at home over the last few weeks, they should have just enough in the tank to see off Stoke.
Recommended bet: QPR to be winning at half time and full time @ 37/20
