Stoke’s odds of 13/5 make them underdogs for their home encounter with Liverpool on Saturday, although the game could be tighter than bwin’s 3Way football betting market suggests.
Liverpool go into the match at the Britannia Stadium as 6/5 favourites but their inability to pick up three points against Stoke in their last three visits to the Potteries casts doubt on their status.
Indeed, Liverpool have won just two of the sides’ last five meetings and with three ending with the spoils shared, a draw could yet be the best bet at odds of 39/20.
Both teams have enjoyed steady starts to the year, having avoided defeat in their three league matches to date, with Liverpool picking up two wins and a draw and Stoke a win and two draws.
In fact, Stoke are unbeaten in all competitions this season, having also emerged unscathed from two-legged Europa League qualifiers against Hajduk Split and FC Thun.
With Tony Pulis’ side having one of the better home records in the Premier League last season and Liverpool only avoiding defeat in eight games out of 19 on the road, the Potters look good to continue their unbeaten run on Saturday.
The big question is whether Stoke will be able to inflict defeat on Liverpool for the first time this season or if the match will end without a winner.
Stoke’s record of scoring just two goals in three league games suggests a draw is the most probable outcome and with their last Premier League match at the Britannia ending in a 0-0 stalemate with Chelsea, it is likely to be a low-scoring draw at that.
Further evidence for this is that five of the six Premier League games between Stoke and Liverpool have featured two goals or less.
This suggests a bet on there to be fewer than 2.5 goals in the game, available at odds of 7/10, could pay off.
Another option would be to bet on Liverpool to be ahead at half-time but for the match to end in a draw.
This is based on the fact that Stoke have yet to score before the interval in the league this season and Liverpool’s defence has only been breached in the second period.
At odds of 12/1, a successful £25 free bet on Liverpool/draw in the half-time/full-time market would return £325.

Alternatively, you could bet on Liverpool to score more goals in the first half at odds of 11/5 or Stoke to score more goals in the second half at 9/5.
Finally, with fewer than three goals expected, the best bet in the regular time goal bet market is on a 1-1 draw at odds of 17/4.
