There are a couple of very lively candidates in the scorer markets for Everton’s trip to Spurs, with the hosts’ England Under-21 striker Harry Kane on a run of nine goals in 11 games, and the visitors’ Romelu Lukaku able to boast of breaking the deadlock in each of his side’s past two matches.
Lukaku is 6/1 to fire first again at White Hart Lane, with Kane priced at 2/1 merely to get on the scoresheet, but we’ve taken something of a sideways glance to bring you two others who might have something to say in north London.
Seamus Coleman to score at any time @ 11/2
It’s clear the Donegal man knows where the goal is, as Coleman has struck ten times for Everton and Ireland since the start of last season.
Three have come already this term, with the 26-year-old scoring either side of a month-long injury layoff during September and October after bagging against Arsenal in August.
Coleman also has previous at this time of year, having scored on the corresponding day 12 months ago before going on to claim two more in his next four appearances, and he was given a full rest during the 2-0 win midweek at Wolfsburg, so this bet looks great value.
Christian Eriksen to score the last goal @ 15/2
The Dane’s late winner against Hull seven days ago was his second last-goal of the season, while his other two efforts so far in 2014/15 have both marked the end of Spurs’ scoring in their respective matches.
Betting on Eriksen to close proceedings therefore makes more sense than getting behind Nacer Chadli’s 21/2 opener odds, as the Belgian broke the deadlock with three of his first four goals of the campaign, but has failed to score either first or last with any of his past three for club and country stretching back to the end of September.
