With important FA Cup fourth round preparations to undertake, Premier League clubs have dialled down the transfer fervour this Friday.
But fear not, elevenses patrons, for there are still a few titbits to sate your tittle-tattle cravings, the juiciest concerning QPR, who are the only top-tier side not in action this weekend.
Alexandre Pato – Corinthians to QPR
The one-time AC Milan prodigy who lost his way has allegedly been offered to the Loftus Road club after the Paulista-based powerhouse caught them upturning every pebble in the transfer market, blindly hoping to uncover a new centre-forward.
Cortinhians currently have the 25-year-old out on loan at Sao Paulo, where he has bagged eight in 27 so far.
It’s Pato’s second-best return since a few flush campaigns in Serie A, but the revered motivational magic of Harry Redknapp is just what’s required to help the Selecao outcast restore former glories.
Pato is 6/4 to move to QPR in January.
Aaron Lennon – Tottenham to Hull
It’s widely recognised that Spurs speedster Lennon is on his way out of White Hart Lane this month, having not made one of Mauricio Pochettino’s teamsheets since a 3-0 reverse at Chelsea.
A raft of lower echelon top-flight outfits are keen, including the Tigers, or so says Hull’s version of the Daily Mail.
The strict financial constraints Steve Bruce’s side are wrestling with, however, mean they can only afford a loan deal; the Lilywhites are looking for something a little more permanent.
Norberto Neto – Fiorentina to Arsenal
Liverpool are known admirers of the Brazilian net minder, but the Gunners have become the latest club to register an interest.
This doesn’t bode well for ousted stopper Wojciech Szczesny, who has lost his place in the team to David Ospina following defeat at Southampton.
The Pole has already been advised to leave the club on a short-term deal to rediscover his form, by compatriot and former keeper Jan Tomaszewski and the arrival of Neto, who will be a free agent in the summer, would push him closer to the exit door.
