Tottenham go into the second match of their mini-tour of South Africa as favourites to beat Orlando Pirates.
Spurs odds are 11/20 for the win despite the setback suffered in their previous match, when they lost to the Pirates’ Soweto derby rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
The Chiefs prevailed 1-0 thanks to an injury-time goal from George Lebese and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said he was impressed with the standard of the opposition.
While Tottenham are feeling their way back to full fitness ahead of the new Premier League season, Kaizer Chiefs were fast, strong and not lacking in technique.
And with Orlando Pirates having recently clinched the 2010-11 Premier Soccer League title, Redknapp is expecting a similarly tough test this evening.
“Pirates did the treble last season, so they are a strong team and it will be another tough game,” he commented.
“They will want to impress their new coach (Julio Cesar Leal) and will work hard. We have to match that otherwise it will be a difficult night for us.”
With this in mind, odds of 15/4 on a victory for Orlando Pirates in bwin’s 3Way results market could prove an attractive bet.
A £25 free bet on Orlando Pirates to beat Tottenham, available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account, would return £118.75.
Attractive returns could also be secured through a successful bet on a draw, which is available at odds of 29/20.
But perhaps the safest option comes in bwin’s double chance market, where betting fans convinced Tottenham’s sluggish pre-season start will continue can back Orlando Pirates to secure either a victory or a draw at odds of 23/20.
