Norwich and Fulham are respectively priced at 3/2 and 17/10 to pick up all three points from their New Year’s Eve fixture at Carrow Road in a close football betting market.
The two teams look evenly matched heading into the contest having both taken eight points from their last six games.
They are also sitting just two points apart in the table after 18 games.
A draw therefore looks the obvious choice in bwin’s 3Way market at odds of 23/10, especially when it is considered that only Aston Villa have drawn more games in the league this season than Martin Jol’s men.
However, Fulham’s suspect away record could open the door for Norwich to grab a vital victory.
Despite drawing a blank against Tottenham on Tuesday, the Canaries have scored 16 league goals at Carrow Road this season, which is more than all but Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs and Chelsea have achieved on their home grounds.
While it is true that Norwich have struggled to keep teams out at the other end, the fact that away goals have proved hard to come by for Fulham suggests the Canaries might be able to outscore their opponents in their final fixture of 2011.
The Cottagers have only mustered five goals in nine league games on the road, which is fewer than any other team in the Premier League.
And only once in the Premier League this season have Fulham managed to score more than a single goal away from home, with this coming against a Wigan team in the middle of a run of eight consecutive defeats.
Six of Norwich’s nine games at Carrow Road have featured over 2.5 goals and on four of these six occasions the home team has come out on top.
Norwich have not yet kept a clean sheet this season, suggesting Fulham will at least get on the scoresheet, but given their goalscoring troubles on their travels it could be worth betting on the Lilywhites to net just once at 3/2.
Crucially, the Canaries look capable of scoring more than once given they have found the back of the net at least twice whenever a team in the bottom half of the table has visited Carrow Road.
A 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 win for the home team therefore looks a good bet to consider at odds of 5/1.

But for those who want to play it a bit safer, a better option could be on Paul Lambert’s side to win a game with over 2.5 combined goals.
Six of Norwich’s nine games at Carrow Road have featured over 2.5 goals and on four of these six occasions the home team has come out on top, making odds of 3/1 tempting for a repeat.
