Palermo’s Javier Pastore is not likely to be boosting the title chances of Inter, AC Milan or Chelsea judging by the latest comments from the player’s agent.
The Argentinian playmaker has been heavily linked with a big-money move to a top European side in the past few weeks, with the three aforementioned clubs apparently heading the queue.
However, Pastore’s agent Marcelo Simonian says Palermo have yet to receive a single offer for the player, suggesting he could yet be plying his trade at the Stadio Renzo Barbera when the new season gets underway.
“President Zamparini has set his price at €50 million (£44 million), a valuation with which I totally agree,” he commented.
“We both know Pastore’s potential, so we are not in a hurry. And Javier is not anxious to leave either.
“He could remain for another season in Palermo and be happy.
“In any case, I can say that there has been no contact with Inter, AC Milan and Chelsea.”
Should Pastore move to Chelsea he could be the creative influence they need to help get the best out of Fernando Torres.
Playing just behind the front line of attack, Pastore could be the man to provide Torres with the through-balls he thrives on.
With Torres firing on all cylinders, Chelsea odds of 12/5 on a Premier League title win would look significantly more tempting.
A successful £25 free bet on Chelsea to finish first, available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account, would return £85.
The same goes for Pastore moving to Inter or AC Milan, with both side’s title odds likely to shorten should they sign the player.
Pastore is currently on international duty with Argentina in the Copa America, although he has yet to start a game in the tournament for the struggling host nation.
