Manchester United have strengthened their grip on the Premier League title after Wednesday’s fixtures and are now as short as they have been all season to win the league, while the race for Champions League places is hotting up with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Arsenal and Liverpool all in the betting. At the other end, Reading and Southampton remain among the relegation favourites.
A 2-1 win over Southampton at Old Trafford extended Manchester United’s lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League to seven points and bwin now make them 4/25 to wrestle back the title from their rivals.
The odds for a top-four finish are changing all the time as five teams have the Champions League places in their sights.
Chelsea are 1/10 to finish in the top four despite throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Reading at the Madejski Stadium, while all the other contenders are odds-against.
Tottenham Hotspur currently sit in the coveted fourth position and are 6/5 to still be there or better at the end of the season after a 1-1 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road.
Everton, for their part, are just a point behind in fifth following their 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion at Goodison Park and are now 7/2 to finish in the top four.
Arsenal and Liverpool played out a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Emirates which leaves the clubs in sixth and seventh, four and seven points respectively behind Spurs.
However, the Gunners are still as short as 6/5 to finish in the top four, with Brendan Rodgers’ side as big as 11/2.
In the relegation market, Reading are now 1/2 to avoid the drop after climbing out of the bottom three with that point against the Blues, while Southampton are 7/4 for an immediate return to the Championship following their narrow defeat at Old Trafford.
