Steve Clarke has done a tremendous job in his first season in charge at West Bromwich Albion and the acquisition on Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea has turned out to be an extremely astute piece of business – and the big Belgian looks set to ram this point home when the Baggies travel to Stoke on Saturday.
Lukaku has notched 13 goals in all competitions thus far and although the 19-year-old will return to Stamford Bridge next season, his goals look set to guide the Baggies to a very commendable league position come the end of the season.
Things aren’t going so well at Stoke, with the Potters much closer to the relegation battle than many pundits predicted at the start of the season.
The Potters have recorded just one win in their last 11 Premier League matches and the fans are beginning to voice their anger at their side’s performances.
Meanwhile, West Brom have won three of their last four – including a 2-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield – and given the disparity in form between the two teams the Baggies look massively overpriced at 2/1 to pick up three points at the Britannia Stadium, particularly with Lukaku banging in the goals.
The former Genk man has scored four goals in his last three outings and there looks to be great value in the 5-2 on him finding the back of the net for a fourth successive Premier League game when he takes to the field at the Britannia.
For those of you who like Stoke’s chances the Potters can be backed at 7-5 to pick up all three points and the draw is available at 21/10 in bwin’s 3Way football betting market.
However, my money will be on the Baggies – and Lukaku in particular – to do the business.
