bwin have once again cut the price on Luis Suarez signing for Real Madrid this summer after the Liverpool striker made yet more comments over a potential move to the Bernabeu while on international duty with Uruguay.
The controversial Reds striker, who is currently serving a ten-game domestic ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, revealed that he fancies a move to the La Liga outfit despite proclaiming his love for Liverpool.
Suarez struck 23 Premier League goals last term and said in an interview with television show RR Gol that “Liverpool is a club that I dreamt about playing for as a boy”.
“I have been with great players there, they know me and I would love to continue for many more years at Liverpool,” he said.
Yet the former Ajax hitman once again reiterated his desire to leave Anfield with a series of statements about the English media – “ever since I arrived I have felt bad, they have never judged me for my play but with the attitude that he dives, protests, makes gestures, racism … everything” – before talking specifically about Madrid.
Suarez first claimed that he would be keen (“of course I would like to play with [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he is a great player”) before going on to say that “any player would like to play for a great team and Real Madrid certainly are that”.
“Every player wants to reach the very top and Real Madrid are at the very top, but everything that has been said is just rumours, I have had nothing concrete,” added the Uruguyan.
“Obviously Real Madrid is a great team and every player dreams about them; Real Madrid is Real Madrid and it’s as high as you can go as a player and they will always tempt you.
“You never know, but it is complicated. At the moment I am in Liverpool and I do not know what is going to happen.”
These comments were the latest in a long line of public declarations from Suarez that appear, to varying degrees of certainty, to prove that he has his eyes on a move away from Liverpool.
But it is his statements about Los Blancos specifically – he has said in the past “to say no to Madrid would always be difficult” – that have alerted everybody at Anfield and bwin now price up the transfer as a 9/20 chance to go through this summer, cut from 19/20.
With a move to the Spanish capital such a short price, bwin seem to think Madrid is Suarez’s only destination.
He is a big-looking 31/20 to still be a Liverpool player come the end of the transfer window and for the Uruguay star to end up anywhere else is at least 18/1, with Monaco the third favourites in the betting.
Atletico Madrid are 20/1, while Manchester City and Juventus are at 22/1, with all other clubs at least 33/1.
But the odds seem to suggest that Suarez will be playing in the famous white of Madrid next season.
