Wedding season is now in full swing and news.bwin.com have been doing their bit to ensure the spate of joyous unions continues right up until September the 3rd.
The classic romantic comedy trope where everyone bar the couple in question knows they’re perfect for each other transfers (pun intended) neatly into the world of football gossip and this site appears to have developed a keen matchmaker’s eye.
In today’s rumours both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the players we had previously suggested were perfect for them.
The Sun report that Everton’s Romelu Lukaku has emerged as a potential target for the Red Devils, a move that had been recommended as the sage alternative to their pursuit of Harry Kane by James Middleton on these very pages.
Now United appeared to have wised up to the fact, with Lukaku understood to be considered a viable alternative to Edinson Cavani and Gonzalo Higuain by Louis van Gaal, according to the Star.
In what was a prescient weekend on news.bwin.com, we had also fingered Yohan Cabaye as the missing piece of Tottenham’s midfield jigsaw 24 hours prior.
The piece in question wondered why Cabaye was flirting with Crystal Palace when he could walk into the Lilywhites first team in a mutually beneficial manoeuvre.
Abracadabra! Five days later the Telegraph break the news:
“Tottenham Hotspur have made a surprise move to sign Yohan Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain, who paid £20 million for the France midfielder when he left Newcastle United.”
The question is, which other Jennifer Annistons of the transfer gossip world are being stared right in the face by their perfect partners?
Maybe selling Petr Cech to Tottenham would be an especially pleasing move for all sides, or perhaps it’s surprising that Manchester City have yet to be linked with a move for the perennially touted Morgan Schneiderlin?
Either way it should prove prudent to follow news.bwin.com to keep ahead of the curve.
