It’s that time of year where the gloves come on and the snoods come up, but all that big girl’s blous-iness can be forgiven if Southampton v Reading, Everton v Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham v Newcastle United come up with enough goals to fill our wallets this weekend.
Into December and with the big compact Christmas fixture list on the horizon, everyone will be eager to get as many points as possible before then, which should in theory mean they’ll be going for it, firing shots here, there and everywhere. My job is to figure out which games are likely to have several of those shots find the back of the net.
If you would rather have money to warm you up than a silly snood then why not throw the free £20 bet you receive for opening a bwin account today on this mighty treble to give yourself a chance at winnings of £110?
Over 2.5 goals in Southampton v Reading @ 67/100
The two newly-promoted sides face off at St Mary’s on Saturday and the Saints will be looking to get their own back for their 3-1 loss at the hands of the Royals in this fixture in the Championship last season.
In a combined 29 Premier League games this campaign, Southampton and Reading have scored 40 goals and conceded an eye-watering 59.
It could be that two negatives make a positive, or two positives make a negative depending on how full your glass is, but such is the need for both teams to pick up three points, I have faith that the goals will flow like red wine at a Christmas party.
Over 2.5 goals in Everton v Tottenham @ 83/100
One statistic jumped off the screen like a big red beacon when researching this battle of the top-four contenders.
All seven of Spurs’ away games this season have featured at least three goals and there is no reason to believe that run will stop on Sunday.
Four of Everton’s last six at Goodison Park have seen over 2.5 goals scored and all six produced at least two strikes. With all that in mind, the 83/100 on offer here looks like tremendous value.
With the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Jermain Defoe finding it impossible to stop scoring, I predict goals galore on Merseyside (hey, that’s the name of the article!)
Over 2.5 goals in Fulham v Newcastle @ 4/5
Let’s keep this interesting and wait until Monday to complete our treble. Just think how exciting it will be at work, drafting your letter of resignation after your treble comes up at Craven Cottage (assuming you place tens of thousands of pounds on this bet).
The fixture last January between the two featured seven goals as Martin Jol’s men ran out 5-2 winners, though a Clint Dempsey hat-trick is fairly unlikely this time around thanks to his move to Spurs.
Six of the Cottagers’ seven home games have seen three or more goals go in, with 12 of their 15 overall going the same way, so the Monday Night Football offering gets the tick to finish our treble for this weekend.
