The international break may have robbed us of Premier League punting opportunities this weekend, but chances to bwinning abound nonetheless.
Instead, keeping faith with the Football League pace-setters offers a road-map to profit as Leagues One and Two take centre-stage.
Below are our three selections for a busy afternoon’s football – combined as a treble they pay out at over 5/1.
Read on for the rationale…
Peterborough United to beat Port Vale @ 4/5
A tale of four signings this one…
Posh new boys Luke James and Marcus Maddison are both available having bagged in the midweek Johnston’s Paint Trophy loss to Leyton Orient.
Meanwhile Vale’s loanees Achille Campion and Jordan Slew are injured and short of fitness respectively.
Peterborough have won four of their five league outings so far and take on Valiants side who have lost their last two.
Bristol City to beat Scunthorpe @ 7/10 NAP
Just two days ago the Scunthorpe Telegraph reported their local side to be “without NINE players, eight of whom you’d class as first-team regulars, for their trip to Bristol City.”
A far from ideal time to visit Ashton Gate then, especially as Steve Cotterill’s side are unbeaten so far this season and in their last nine league games on the homestead.
Shrewsbury to beat Hartlepool @ 11/10
The Shropshire outfit rested four of the men responsible for their unbeaten start to the League Two campaign for the midweek Capital One Cup defeat to Preston.
Micky Mellon will be able to deploy the rejuvenated quartet, along with skipper Liam Lawrence (who returns from a three-match suspension) for the trip to Victoria Park, where they play a side who have lost all bar one of their five matches so far.
