Fulham entertain Swansea City at Craven Cottage on Saturday in what could well prove to be the most entertaining Premier League match this weekend.
The tenth-placed Cottagers have enjoyed another splendid home run this season – only the top five have won more matches or scored more goals on their own patch than Martin Jol’s side, while 11th-placed Swansea have enjoyed plenty of plaudits during their debut season in England’s top flight.
Both sides were involved in 1-0 scorelines last weekend, with Fulham succumbing to an injury-time strike from Aston Villa’s Andreas Weimann at Villa Park and the Swans turning over title-chasing Manchester City thanks to a late header from substitute Luke Moore.
The Welsh side are priced at a very lengthy 15/4 by bwin to win in south-west London, with the home side odds-on favourites at 3/4 and the draw priced at 5/2.
History is on the Fulham’s side as well – Swansea have failed to win at the Cottage since February 1980, a sequence that now stretches to ten matches.
For all their impressive football so far this season, it must also be said that the Swans have a suspect away record, with just three league wins from their 14 matches on the road, although those have all come since the turn of the year.
The last time the two sides met in December, the Swans enjoyed a 2-0 home win thanks to goals from Scott Sinclair and Danny Graham, and the price for the same result is 22/1 with bwin.
Any new customer using their free £25 bet for joining bwin.com can expect returns of £575 for placing it successfully on that scoreline.
However, the price of 21/4 for a 1-1 draw could represent the most sensible value, considering the Swans will be buzzing from their win over City and will have their fare share of the ball by the Thames.
As for goalscorers, Fulham’s new Russian hitman Pavel Pogrebnyak is 5/1 to net first or 7/5 to net at any time, while team-mate Clint Dempsey is 11/2 to open the scoring and 3/2 to add to his 12 goals for this season at any time.
The diamond for this match though could be the price for Swansea’s loan star Gylfi Sigurdsson, who has netted three times in his first seven matches for the club, including two screamers recently at Wigan.
The Icelandic playmaker is 14/1 to open the scoring at Craven Cottage and 4/1 to net any time – a bet that would be worth £125 to new customers using their free £25 bet.
Recommended bet: Fulham and Swansea to draw 1-1 @ 21/4
