Rio Ferdinand has had his fair share of fashion faux pas down the years and Manchester United team-mate Jonny Evans has taken the opportunity to tease his defensive colleague about the work he puts into his appearance.
Speaking exclusively to bwin ahead of tonight’s clash with Manchester City at Old Trafford, the Northern Irishman was asked which of United’s players is most preoccupied with their choice of clobber.
Evans immediately plumped for Ferdinand, but also claimed that the England centre-back’s unique look is not as effortless as he would have you believe.
He said: “Rio Ferdinand [is the most fashion-conscious], definitely, he tries hard. He pretends he doesn’t but really he puts effort in!”
In a further insight into life in the United dressing room, Evans also discussed Patrice Evra’s DJ skills, revealing that the Frenchman often sets the musical agenda – but with varying degrees of success.
“Pat is pretty good at coming up with new play lists,” he added.
“Although there are one or two songs he has been playing for the past three or four years. To be honest the lads just switch off, we should know every song word by word by now but we don’t.”
Open the player at the top of this page to watch the full interview, in which Evans also reveals who he thinks the best player of all time is, who takes the longest to get ready after training at United, which striker he has found toughest to play against (the answer will surprise you) and which Premier League team he has been most impressed by this term.
