Patrice Evra believes victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday will give Manchester United a huge boost going into a tough sequence of league and cup fixtures.

Speaking exclusively to bwin, Evra said that winning Sunday’s showdown at Stamford Bridge would give United some much-needed momentum ahead of another game against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday and a clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford next Saturday.
“I think Chelsea is always one of the most important rivals for winning trophies in England,” the Frenchman explained.
“That is why I am really looking forward to this game, because it is a big game and you have to show your big personality to make sure you win. If you win this kind of game, you can go to the next matches with full confidence.”
Chelsea have impressed in the Premier League so far this season and top the table after eight games with 22 points.
And although Roberto Di Matteo’s men lost a Champions League group game to Shakhtar in midweek, wins over Arsenal and Tottenham in the last month serve to highlight the Blues’ impressive form.
To make matters worse, Evra knows to his cost that Chelsea do not need to be at their best for Stamford Bridge to be a difficult place to play.
“It’s not an easy place to go and their fans are not so nice with us. I remember in the past I was sometimes a little bit frustrated after playing against Chelsea, because we always played well and lost games with a free kick or something like a bad decision,” he commented.
“That`s why even if we play bad, I want to win against Chelsea.”
Chelsea are bwin’s 27/20 favourites to win the 4pm kick-off, with the draw at 23/10 and a United victory at 19/10.
At 19/10, a free £20 bet on a United success would return £58 if Evra and company did the business. Handily, new customers can get a £20 free bet when they sign up for a bwin account.
One thing that will help United is positive memories from the corresponding fixture last season, when they came back from 3-0 down to rescue a point.
“It was a very good reaction and it showed character and the personality of the team. We never give up until the last second,” Evra said.
