After the furore surrounding Carlos Tevez in midweek, Manchester City travel to Blackburn hoping a win will make their Champions League loss to Bayern Munich a distant memory.
Roberto Mancini has handed the Argentinian a two-week suspension, stating that the player will never play for City again.
As such, there is no bet available for Tevez this week. Instead, place your money on Edin Dzeko to score City’s goals.
Despite a tough start to life in Manchester – the Bosnian only scored two goals in fifteen league appearances last season – Dzeko has started to show signs that he can live up to his price tag.
One of those debut season goals was scored at Ewood Park. Couple that fact with six goals already this term and he is a good bet to score again at 6/5.
A third of the Dzeko’s goals this term have been the first strike of the game.
With City heading into the game as such strong favourites he is good value to open the scoring again at 9/2.
A player that has had no problems settling in at Manchester City is Sergio Aguero.
The former Atletico Madrid striker has scored eight goals in five league appearances in an impressive start at his new club.
He is 9/10 to score his ninth goal of the season against Blackburn, and 4/1 to score two goals or more.
Betting on him to get more than one goal may be the best value. When Aguero scores, he scores again – only once this season has he scored without going on to score a second, or even a third.
Rovers may have started the season in disappointing form, but there have been encouraging signs emanating from Ewood Park lately, not least the 4-3 victory over Arsenal a couple of weeks ago.
In that match Yakubu grabbed a brace of goals, his first two goals of the season.
The Nigerian is 14/1 to repeat the feat at the weekend. A successful £25 free bet on this outcome would return £375, with the free bet available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account.
