Wolves might be 27/20 favourites to pick up all three points against Fulham later today, but the best bet looks to be for the game at Molineux to end in a draw.
Odds of 9/4 are available on a draw in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, with a win for the Lilywhites priced at 39/20.
There are a number of reasons why the spoils are likely to be shared between the two teams, not least because four of their last eight meetings have ended in a draw.
And while Wolves go into the game on the back of an encouraging 2-1 win over Blackburn at Ewood Park, the nine draws recorded by Fulham on their travels made them one of the more obdurate away sides in last season’s Premier League.
Their defensive record made for particularly impressive reading – with only 20 let in, Fulham conceded the joint-fewest goals away from home in the Premier League along with Chelsea.
Martin Jol’s side also looked good at the back in their first league fixture of the campaign against an Aston Villa side who hit three past Blackburn yesterday.
On the flipside, Fulham’s attack was hardly prolific away from home last season, with just 19 goals scored, meaning a bet on a 0-0 draw at odds of 25/4 could pay dividends.
A successful £25 free bet on Wolves to draw 0-0 with Fulham, available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account, would return £181.25.
However, with Wolves scoring and conceding 30 goals at Molineux in the last campaign, goals could yet be on the agenda and the safest option might be on a 1-1 draw at odds of 23/4.
If Wolves are to score, their goal is likely to come from the in-form Steven Fletcher.
The Scot has scored six goals in his last seven Premier League fixtures, and he is priced at 17/10 to make it at least seven in eight today.
