After getting his first goal for his new club in QPR’s 3-0 demolition of Wolves last weekend, DJ Campbell will be keen to continue that streak against Aston Villa.
The 29-year-old will have extra incentive having been rejected by Villa as a trainee before working his way to the top the hard way with non-league stints at Stevenage and Yeading.
With 13 goals for Blackpool last season, Campbell proved his Premier League pedigree and he is 17/10 in bwin’s anytime goalscorer market to score against Villa for the second consecutive season.
Odds of 6/1 for Campbell to score the final goal, as he did last weekend, look a good option and new customers backing him with the £25 free bet available when signing up to a bwin account would win £175 if he does so.
Another of Rangers’ summer signings who has made a good start since joining is new captain Joey Barton.
He opened the scoring against Wolves and is 11/1 with bwin to again get the first goal, and having had a hand in all three goals last weekend, odds of 22/1 for him to score twice are worth considering.
Villa for their part will be looking for more impact from their new signings.
Having got ten goals for Wigan last season, Villa fans would have hoped to see ₤9.5 million man Charles N’Zgobia score for them in the Premier League by now but he is 2/1 to open his account this weekend.
Darren Bent is the only Villa player to have previously scored against QPR (for Ipswich back in 2004) and despite making his worst goalscoring start to a season he remains a good bet to get a goal against the Rs this weekend.
Bent is 17/10 with bwin to score anytime and 6/1 in both the first goal and last goal markets.
By contrast, his strike partner Gabriel Agbonlahor has been in good form with three goals in four games and is 2/1 to score again or 25/2 to get his first double of the season.
