Chelsea will aim to cement their position in the Premier League’s top four on Sunday as they welcome London rivals West Ham to Stamford Bridge.
Rafa Benitez’s team are two points clear of fifthplace Arsenal but they face a Hammers side who beat them earlier in the season at Upton Park, so a win is by no means guaranteed.
Chelsea though will enter the match on the back of a morale boosting victory in the Europa League over Steaua Bucharest in midweek and have not lost at home since the shock defeat to QPR on January 2nd.
The home advantage sees Chelsea installed as pre-match favourites at 17/50 in bwin’s 3way football betting market, while West Ham are 7/1 to pull off a surprise win and the draw is priced at 4/1.
To help you decide which way the game will go, here are five stats you may not have seen.
4: The average number of goals scored in the last four meetings between Chelsea and their east London rivals. It’s 6/5 on over 3.5 goals being scored at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
0.6: The number of goals, on average, that the Hammers have managed to score in their 14 away games in the Premier League.
1: The number of goals that £50 million striker Fernando Torres had managed to score since Christmas (20 games in total) before scoring against Steaua Bucharest on Thursday. The Spaniard is evens to score his sixteenth goal of the season at Stamford Bridge today.
0: The number of times that West Ham have come out on top in the second-half of away games, the only side in the league not to win a second half. West Ham are not surprisingly long shots at 21/4 to break their duck, whereas Chelsea are 31/50 to win the second 45 minutes.
2.2: The average number of home goals that Chelsea have scored in the Premier League. West Ham have conceded 1.7 goals on average away from home.
