Chelsea are odds-on with bwin to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk, who has admitted that he is open to a move away from the Russian league.
In 2012, Hulk made a surprise £35 million switch to Zenit from Porto, where he won a domestic and European treble under the stewardship of now Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas, yet during his time in Russia the Brazilian is yet to enjoy trophy success.
And while it has been hinted at that clubs are interested in taking the forward, who helped Brazil to their Confederations Cup win last month, the player himself has admitted for the first time that his future may lie away from Zenit this summer.
“Those approaches [by other clubs] do exist,” Hulk told Brazilian TV station TV Paraiba.
“There are clubs interested in me. But if I am to move, it has to be to a better place, with a better team in a better competition. I will be happy too if I stay. Zenit are a great club.”
It would reportedly take a bid in the region of £40 million to secure the signature of Hulk, so it is perhaps not surprising that Chelsea are the odds-on favourites to sign the former Vitoria star.
With rumours that the Blues have been tracking him for some time, bwin go 9/10 that Hulk is playing at Stamford Bridge in 2013/14, but are far less enthusiastic about Tottenham’s chances – bwin make it a 20/1 chance that Hulk is playing for Villas-Boas again next term.
bwin make big-spending Monaco a much more likely destination, going 3/1 that Hulk signs for Claudio Ranieri’s men, while he is 4/5 to be at St Petersburg until January at the earliest.
Hulk is 22/1 and bigger to sign for anyone else.
