Blackburn’s chances of survival took a big hit with defeat at White Hart Lane on Sunday and Rovers are now close to being football betting certainties to go down at the end of the season.
Goals from Rafael van der Vaart and a belter of a free kick from Kyle Walker gave Tottenham a 2-0 win over Blackburn, who failed to muster a single strike on goal.
Defeat left Rovers three points adrift of fourth-bottom QPR with just two games to go and they could be six points from safety should third-bottom side Bolton win their game in hand against Spurs on Wednesday.
Blackburn’s run of six defeats in seven means relegation looks inevitable, which would leave Villa, Wigan, QPR and Bolton in a battle to avoid the final place in the drop zone.
With Wolves already relegated, this means Steve Kean’s men are 3/100 favourites to go down and 9/1 shots to pull off an increasingly unlikely escape mission.

Kean will be watching Wednesday’s game with interest hoping that Tottenham can boost their bid for a place in the top four with a second successive win.
But even if Bolton lose to Harry Redknapp’s side, Blackburn surely need six points from their remaining two fixtures to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.
And given their games come against in-form Wigan at Ewood Park and Champions League finalists Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, their prospects look bleak.
Of course, this means that those who fancy Blackburn’s chances and back them to stay up will be rewarded handsomely.
At odds of 9/1, a successful £25 free bet on Ewood Park hosting Premier League football next season would return £250, with the free bet available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account.
However, Blackburn’s run of six defeats in seven means relegation looks inevitable, which would leave Aston Villa, Wigan, QPR and Bolton in a battle to avoid the final place in the drop zone.
