Candidates for the best bet to score at any time in the 90 minutes of their respective Premier League fixtures on Boxing Day are not in short supply.
Diego Costa will be a popular choice at 7/10 with Chelsea hosting West Ham, but preference should be for Eden Hazard at 6/4, given he has netted in the Blues’ last six matches at Stamford Bridge since the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in September.
Charlie Austin is another banging in goals for fun in front of his own fans, finding the net in five successive Loftus Road outings. He also has nine goals in QPR’s last eight Premier League matches and is 9/4 to be on target again at the Emirates against Arsenal.
Wilfried Bony is another in form with goals in four of Swansea’s last six fixtures, while up against him is Christian Benteke, who has made Aston Villa a far bigger attacking threat since returning from injury.
Liverpool’s new formation promises to be good news for Raheem Sterling at Burnley, while Angel Di Maria must be in line to start for Manchester United against Newcastle after a solid attacking cameo from the bench against Villa last time.
However, all of these players should play second fiddle in favour of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who greatly appeals at 7/5 to score at Leicester.
Leicester have lost nine of their last 10 Premier League fixtures and have conceded at least twice in five of their last seven.
Kane has been a regular starter since climbing off the bench to provide Spurs with an injury-time winner at Aston Villa at the beginning of November.
In the six rounds of fixtures since, Kane has fired in more attempts than any other Premier League striker, including seven against another of the Premier League’s newcomers in Burnley last time, where he scored for the second successive fixture.
