Wayne Rooney is a sure fire bet to score this weekend as Manchester United travel to Stoke.
The striker has scored nine goals in five appearances this season, including hat-tricks against Arsenal and Bolton.
Although returns will not be huge – the England talisman is 17/20 to score at any point during the game – it is a near certainty that Rooney will add to his tally at the Britannia Stadium.
Javier Hernandez is also odds on to score at 19/20 against Stoke on Saturday – and with good reason.
The Little Pea has three goals in two appearances against the Potters, including that sensational backwards header in the same fixture last term.
The Mexican went on to grab a brace in that game and is 9/2 to score two or more goals again today.
A successful £25 free bet for new customers who sign up for a bwin account on this would return £137.50.
Danny Welbeck, who has two goals in three appearances, has declared himself fit and ready to return to first team action this weekend. Interestingly, both of his goals were the first to be scored in their respective games.
Although unlikely to start ahead of Rooney and Hernandez, odds of 5/1 on the striker getting the first goal of the game reflect the danger he poses in the opening stages.
Stoke don’t get many goals against the league champions, having only scored two in their last six meetings. One of those goals was scored by former Sunderland man Dean Whitehead, who might be worth a punt on repeating the feat at 9/1.
The Potters are notorious for getting goals from indirect free-kicks, corners and long throw-ins. Couple that with David De Gea’s shaky start to life in Manchester and Stoke have a good chance of getting a couple of goals.
As such, a bet on someone like Robert Huth or Kenwyne Jones – who usually get their head on deliveries- could prove good value at 11/2 and 2/1 respectively.
