West Brom are decent value at 3/4 to send Reading away from the Hawthorns empty handed this Saturday. Having registered comprehensive wins over Liverpool and Everton in their first two home fixtures of the season, they are heavier favourites for me than those odds suggest against the nervy Royals.
Reading are not yet in panic mode after suffering their second defeat of the season to Tottenham but their shortcomings were sorely exposed at the Madejski on Sunday. A week on the training ground won’t be enough to correct ball retention issues and a lack of pace at the back, meaning a draw at 5/2 – let alone an away win at 15/4 – is unappealing in bwin’s 3Way football betting market.
West Brom have scored five of their six league goals this season in the second half.
But at least Reading have been able to find the net in all three matches since rejoining the Premier League. More spirited attacking and dire defending from them could easily lead to an entertaining home win, so I fancy West Brom to win a match with four goals or more at 4/1.
If the Hawthowns is treated to an attacking affair then backing a few goals after the interval is another one that you can cash in on.
West Brom have scored five of their six league goals this season in the second half. If their dogged if unspectacular attack fires late on again, then three goals or more to be scored in the second half at 18/5 could also pay handsomely.
Recommended bet: West Brom to win with over 3.5 goals in the game @ 4/1
