Aldershot Town (11th) v Crawley Town (5th)
Home 9/5 Draw 11/5 Away 13/10
Steve Evans’ Crawley have been poor on the road this season and will be looking to bounce back from the 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Morecambe on their last away day. The Shots have conceded in the first half in both their last two home games so in the half time/full time market odds of 12/1 on Crawley to be leading at the interval and the game ending all square are well worth consideration.
Bradford City (22nd) v AFC Wimbledon (12th)
Home 13/10 Draw 11/5 Away 9/5
Have a punt on there to be goals between these two sides. Neither have exactly been tight at the back and there have been 14 goals scored in the four league games at Valley Parade so far this season. Backing there to be over 3.5 goals in this game at 9/5 seems like a good option.
Cheltenham Town (13th) v Hereford (23rd)
Home 7/10 Draw 12/5 Away 7/2
The Bulls have yet to win on the road this season but visiting Whaddon Road will give fans a glimmer of hope as they have never lost there. However, Mark Yates’ side have won their last three home games and Hereford’s form is poor. Give the Bulls a 1-0 start and back Cheltenham to win in the handicap market at 19/10.
Crewe Alexandra (15th) v Port Vale (8th)
Home 5/4 Draw 11/5 Away 19/10
Both meetings last season finished 2-1 to the home side and given that the Railwaymen have won their last two games at the Alexandra Stadium, a home win could well be on the cards here. Those who backed 2-1 Crewe at 8/1 will be happy if the result comes in.
Gillingham (9th) v Burton Albion (4th)
Home 9/10 Draw 9/4 Away 11/4
The Brewers travel to the Priestfield Stadium on a four game unbeaten run but will be in for a tough game here. The Gills will be brimming with confidence following last weekend’s thumping 6-1 win at Hereford. Expect a tight game and odds on the match being level at the half and the Gills to come out on top after 90 minutes at 17/4 are worth consideration.
Morecambe (1st) v Bristol Rovers (16th)
Home Evens Draw 11/5 Away 49/20
The Pirates’ last away win came on the opening weekend and the Shrimps’ last home defeat came at the same time. Given the form Jim Bentley’s side are in its hard to see any hope for the travelling Rovers fans. Morecambe have only conceded twice at home and back them to keep another clean sheet here with odds of 39/20.
Northampton Town (20th) v Dagenham and Redbridge (19th)
Home 11/10 Draw 11/5 Away 11/5
The Cobblers are still waiting for their first home win of the season. Meanwhile, the Daggers have lost both of the previous league meetings and are currently on a three game losing streak. Neither team have been prolific in front of goal and this could be an uninspiring encounter. Back there to be under 1.5 goals at 11/4.
Oxford United (7th) v Accrington Stanley (18th)
Home 4/5 Draw 12/5 Away 3/1
The Us are unbeaten at the Kassam Stadium this season but have drawn three of their four clashes there. John Coleman’s Stanley arrive having yet to win on their travels this season, although they have drawn three of their four away games. So with that in mind, and when you consider both games last season finished level, back the draw at 12/5.
Plymouth Argyle (24th) v Macclesfield Town (17th)
Home 2/1 Draw 23/10 Away 23/20
You’ve got to feel for fans of the Pilgrims this season – they have yet to see their side win at Home Park and have only seen their them score one goal at home in the league. Even though the Silkmen have only won once on the road they will be confident of picking up the three points here. Argyle have lost their last three games 2-0 and odds of that becoming a fourth straight 2-0 defeat are 21/2 – well worth a bet.
Rotherham United (2nd) v Southend United (6th)
Home 17/20 Draw 9/4 Away 29/10
Fans at the Don Valley Stadium have been treated to entertainment this season with the four league games there averaging exactly four goals apiece. The Shrimpers’ four league away games have had 13 goals in total so expect a real goal fest. Back there to be over 3.5 goals in this clash at 39/20.
Shrewsbury Town (3rd) v Torquay United (10th)
Home 9/10 Draw 11/5 Away 14/5
The Gulls knocked the Shrews out of last seasons play-offs and Graham Turner’s men will be out for revenge when they go head-to-head this weekend at New Meadow. Shrewsbury have won their last four games at home in all competitions and back their electric home form to continue here and dominate from the off. Odds of the Shrews winning at half time and full time at 2/1 are hard to ignore.
Swindon Town (14th) v Barnet (21st)
Home 13/20 Draw 47/20 Away 4/1
The Bees have not won away from Underhill since the opening weekend of the season and travel to the County Ground to face a Swindon side who have only lost once on home soil. Both sides are evenly matched and a draw looks likely. Lawrie Sanchez’s side have a striker in fine form in Izale McLeod and the Robins are not short of goals themselves having netted nine goals in their four games at home in League Two. The 2-2 draw at 13/1 is well worth a punt.
