Having beaten Arsenal, Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic en route to this season’s Capital One Cup final, Bradford City have been installed as 9/4 favourites to win the League Two play-offs ahead of Northampton Town, Cheltenham Town and Burton Albion.
Since the 5-0 defeat to Swansea City at Wembley, Phil Parkinson’s side have lost just two of their last 15 league matches to lift themselves into the top seven.
And at 9/4 to go one better at the national stadium next month, they head the play-off betting market – which you can see by clicking here – ahead of Northampton (13/5), Cheltenham (13/5) and Burton Albion (7/2).
In other words, new customers using their free £20 bet to back Bradford to clinch promotion to League One would pocket winnings of £65 if successful.
However, Bradford must first overcome the hurdle of Burton, who they host at Valley Parade on Thursday in a semi-final first leg, while Northampton face Cheltenham in the other last-four tie.
The Bantams are 9/10 to secure a lead over Burton on home soil, with the draw at 9/4 and Albion an 11/4 shot, and the hosts will be buoyed by having beaten the Brewers 1-0 in West Yorkshire just nine days ago.
Bradford are strong favourites at 11/20 to reach Wembley, while you can get 13/10 about Gary Rowett’s side making the final.
In the other semi-final, the bookies can’t choose between Northampton and Cheltenham, with both sides quoted at 17/20 to make it to the final.
Aidy Boothroyd’s team are 6/5 to make home advantage count at Sixfields on Thursday, with the draw at 11/5 and the Robins quoted at 11/4 to grab a vital away victory.
Cheltenham will arguably have the psychological advantage after beating the Cobblers 1-0 earlier this month at Whaddon Road, but their away form – just one win in seven – will give Northampton cause for hope.
