Sheffield United, Cheltenham Town and Torquay United could be the three names to help you win big money in League One and League Two this weekend with away wins over Preston North End, Bradford City and Bristol Rovers respectively.
Last time out, a late collapse from Stevenage denied me what should have been a cracking treble. But I’m not about to whine on about that and have instead been making the most of the British weather with a few chilly mornings in my stats shed working out my next move.
It’s been a long process, dominated by thoughts of Danny Wilson and his ongoing quest to manage virtually every lower-division club, but I’ve finally put together a Playing Away treble to be proud of.
I can see the tears in mother’s eyes now as I unveil the latest magic trio, which is available at combined odds of 21/1 or as decent single bets for anyone preferring to play it safe.
The adventurous among you may be interested in utilising bwin’s free £20 bet for registering on the treble, which could bring impressive returns of £418.95.
Now that the fanfare has died down, let’s get to the stats.
Sheffield United to beat Preston North End @ 29/20
Sheffield United may have dropped points at home to Oldham Athletic last week, but they remain unbeaten in League One and could be on for another victory against Preston.
The Blades have fared very well on the road this season and head into this game on the back of four consecutive wins away from home in the league. Wilson’s team are also fresh from a superb 4-1 away victory against Notts County in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Preston, meanwhile, have failed to win their last two league games, drawing a blank last time out against the MK Dons.
Sheffield United will be confident of victory at Deepdale having claimed a 4-2 win there last season and look a great punt at odds of 29/20.
Cheltenham Town to beat Bradford City @ 2/1
Cheltenham may have made a slow start to the campaign after just missing out on League One promotion last season, but they have roared back into form in the last few weeks and are currently on a run of six league games unbeaten.
Their away form has been very good too, with the Robins heading to the Valley Parade in search of a third straight win on the road. Bradford, meanwhile, are without a win in four league games and have failed to claim victory in their last two matches at home.
Cheltenham have won each of their last three meetings with the Bantams, scoring eight goals in the process, and are well priced to make it four in a row.
Torquay United to beat Bristol Rovers @ 37/20
Torquay may not be in scintillating form, but the Gulls have certainly steadied the ship with just one defeat to their name over their last six league outings.
More importantly, Bristol Rovers remain one of the worst teams in League Two, with just two victories in their last 15 competitive games. Torquay were 2-1 winners at the Recreation Ground in last season’s corresponding meeting and represent a solid punt for another triumph on the road.
