This week I have plumped for the familiar looking League One trio of Leyton Orient, Bournemouth and MK Dons for my Home Heroes treble. Now, I say familiar because in each instance they have previously featured in one of my Home Heroes or Playing Away articles, and with all three sides in form I’m going to stick with them.
But this week’s is a particularly special bet.
While obviously I have opted for three of the best from League One, rather than any League Two offerings (I considered Gillingham at home to Fleetwood but remain concerned by the current form of Mad Dog’s team), these three are arguably the most cut-and-dried, nailed-on, dead-cert home wins I have ever seen.
It’s that perfect storm of teams in superb form – Bournemouth, Leyton Orient, MK Dons – and teams that are just plain terrible – Colchester United, Scunthorpe United and Hartlepool United.
Available at 3/1, this particular beauty could land you £60 using Bwin’s free £20 bet for registering.
So what are we waiting for? Let’s have a look.
MK Dons to beat Hartlepool United @ 7/20
The Milton Keynes club may come into this one off the back of a 3-2 defeat away to Brentford, but they remain a force to be reckoned with at stadium:mk this season.
The Dons are on a run of five consecutive wins at home and there is little reason to doubt they will make it six given the form of their opponents Hartlepool United.
Jeff Stelling’s favourite side have been in woeful form all year and head into this match having failed to register a win in any of their last 20 competitive games.
Away form remains a particular concern for the Monkey Hangers, who recently collapsed to a 6-1 defeat against similarly lacklustre Chesterfield in the FA Cup.
A home win is heavily fancied at 7/20.
Bournemouth to beat Colchester United @ 12/25
The Eddie Howe revolution continued apace last weekend, with the Cherries picking up a solid away victory over lowly Scunthorpe United to move them to within a point of eighth-placed Swindon Town.
Incredibly, the win saw Bournemouth extend their unbeaten run to 12 games in all competitions, and that could very well become 13 against Colchester.
The south coast club are unbeaten in their last six home matches, claiming five wins and a single draw along the way.
Colchester have meanwhile lost six of their last seven and could be in line for another defeat here, with the bookies putting Bournemouth as firm favourites for a victory at 12/25.
Leyton Orient to beat Scunthorpe United @ 1/1
Orient are among the form teams of League One at present, heading into this home match with Scunthorpe of the back of eight straight wins home and away.
Russell Slade has certainly fashioned an attacking team at the Matchroom Stadium, with the O’s notching up 22 goals over the course of those eight games.
And they will have little to fear from Scunny, who have picked up just two wins in their last 14 competitive matches and head into this one having lost each of their last three games.
It’s all shaping up for a solid home win, which is priced at 1/1
