Brentford v Rochdale
Home win: 4/5 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 31/10
Key Stat: Rochdale have not won away in ten attempts.
Betting Tip: Following three straight defeats Brentford, are seeing their play-off dream slip away. However, they will fancy their chances against relegation-threatened Dale and should have enough to secure a comfortable victory. Consider backing the Bees to win by at least two goals in the handicap market at 9/4.
Colchester United v Carlisle United
Home win: 6/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 2/1
Key Stat: Colchester have drawn their last four games.
Betting Tip: When you consider that Carlisle have drawn their last two League One outings the stand-out bet here is the draw at 11/5.
Huddersfield Town v Charlton Athletic
Home win: 5/4 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 2/1
Key Stat: Charlton have not lost away from home since October 2011.
Betting Tip: Huddersfield have been on a fine run themselves as they look to push for automatic promotion. This could be a cracking game, and could go either way. The score draw therefore looks to be a good option, so the lead-draw in the run of play market is well worth a punt at 31/10.
Leyton Orient v Sheffield Wednesday
Home win: 5/2 Draw: 11/5 Away win: Evens
Key Stat: Six of Wednesday’s last seven victories have involved second half winners.
Betting Tip: The Owls are unbeaten in six as they look to achieve promotion back to England’s second tier. This should be a tight contest but I fancy Dave Jones’ men to come out on top. Odds of 17/4 on the draw/Wednesday win in the halftime/fulltime market is well worth a punt.
Oldham Athletic v Bournemouth
Home win: 29/20 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 17/10
Key Stat: Bournemouth have failed to score in their last four away games.
Betting Tip: At one stage this season the Cherries looked like certainties for the play-offs but a poor second half of the season looks like it could cost them that chance. Oldham will be buoyed by their 1-0 win over Hartlepool on Tuesday and you can get odds of 2/1 on the away side failing to score here.
Preston North End v Bury Town
Home win: 21/20 Draw: 23/10 Away win: 9/4
Key Stat: Bury have not won in 12 games.
Betting Tip: As Bury slip closer to the relegation zone their hosts look set for a mid-table finish. Preston have not been in great form themselves and this has a draw written all over it, making that price of 23/10 hard to ignore.
Scunthorpe United v Notts County
Home win: 27/20 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 37/20
Key Stat: The Iron have drawn their last four games.
Betting Tip: Notts County’s fine run has come to an abrupt end following two home defeats to the Sheffield clubs in League One and this away day could prove tricky. With Scunthorpe’s form pointing towards a draw, consider taking odds of 3/1 on the lead-draw.
Tranmere Rovers v Exeter City
Home win: 18/25 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 15/4
Key Stat: Exeter have lost five of their last six games.
Betting Tip: Rovers have enjoyed a resurgence in form of late and are currently on a five game unbeaten run. I fancy a comfortable home win for Ronnie Moore’s side here and suggest backing them to win by at least two goals in the handicap market at 2/1.
Walsall v Stevenage Borough
Home win: 39/20 Draw: 2/1 Away win: 27/20
Key Stat: Two of League One’s draw specialists meet at the Bescot Stadium.
Betting Tip: If results go their way Stevenage could end Saturday in a play-off spot. Although Walsall occupy a relegation position at the moment they have been on a good run, losing only once in their last eight. I see this one ending in a stalemate and odds of 2/1 on a draw are worth backing.
Wycombe Wanderers v Milton Keynes Dons
Home win: 21/10 Draw: 23/10 Away win:11/10
Key Stat: Wycombe’s last ten games have averaged over three goals a game.
Betting Tip: Both sides have enjoyed good runs of late and this could be a real goal fest at Adams Park. It’s worth backing odds of 31/20 on there being over 3,5 goals here.
Yeovil Town v Hartlepool United
Home win: 6/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 2/1
Key Stat: Yeovil have won five of their last six games at home.
Betting Tip: When you consider Pools have only won once in their last eight games on the road it’s hard to look past a home win here. I see this one being close but expect Gary Johnson’s men to edge it. Take the draw/Yeovil at 19/4 in the halftime/fulltime market.
