Chesterfield v Bournemouth
Home win: 11/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 11/10
Betting tip: The Spireites won 3-0 at Bournemouth earlier in the season and following their surprise away win at Colchester last weekend, John Sheridan will be hoping that his side can record a double over the Cherries. Nevertheless, Lee Bradbury’s side are unbeaten in six League One games and will be a tough test for a Chesterfield side who haven’t won at home in the league since September. I can’t see anything but a comfortable away win and will back the Cherries to win despite a 1-0 handicap at 3/1.

Brentford v Wycombe Wanderers
Home win: 7/10 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 18/5
Betting tip: The Bees have now gone seven league games without recording a victory and Uwe Rosler’s side are in danger of falling away from the play-off picture come May. The Chairboys arrive on the back of a morale boosting 3-0 win over Rochdale last weekend following four straight defeats which left them languishing in the relegation places. Back Brentford to record an overdue victory here but in a close game, take odds of 15/4 on a draw/Brentford win in the halftime/fulltime market.
Exeter City v Charlton Athletic
Home win: 13/5 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 19/20
Betting tip: The Grecians are now unbeaten in four League One matches as they look to push themselves away from the relegation zone. The Addicks have recorded three straight league wins without conceding a goal and are currently seven points clear at the top of League One. Paul Tisdale’s side have gone 180 minutes without scoring and given Charlton’s fine defensive run I can’t see them scoring here. Take odds of 33/20 on another blank for Exeter.
Hartlepool United v Carlisle United
Home win: 8/5 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 29/20
Betting tip: Antony Sweeney’s late equaliser at Hillsborough last weekend should give Neale Cooper’s side a boost in confidence as they entertain play-off chasing Carlisle this weekend. The Cumbrians arrive in fine form, unbeaten in eight league games and in the mix for a play-off place at the end of the season. Given the confidence that last weekend’s result should give Pools I fancy this one to end in a score draw. Consider odds of 29/10 on the lead-draw in the run of play market.
Leyton Orient v Colchester United
Home win: 23/20 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 21/10
Betting tip: The Os picked up a good 2-0 win at Preston in their last outing and are in good form as they entertain the Us, having only lost twice in their last eight league matches. John Ward’s side have struggled for consistency all season and Ward will be looking for a response from his side following their home defeat to rock bottom Chesterfield last weekend. This really could go either way but what I do expect is goals as neither side is renowned for their defensive prowess. Odds of there being over 3.5 goals in this one are at 11/5 – well worth a punt.
Rochdale v Bury
Home win: 7/5 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 17/10
Betting tip: John Coleman takes charge of his first game as Dale manager and he knows he is running out of time to save his new club from dropping back in to League Two. Bury have been in inconsistent form of late and find themselves occupying a mid-table position, but know with a good run at this stage of the season they could find themselves in the play-off picture. Usually when a new manager takes over a club they go out and put in a good performance, and with that in mind I am going to back Rochdale to win here at 7/5.
Tranmere Rovers v Huddersfield Town
Home win: 12/5 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 19/20
Betting tip: Rovers are without a win in five leagues games and have only picked up two points in that run. Lee Clark’s men arrive unbeaten in seven and having won their last three, scoring ten goals in the process. You have to fear for Les Parry’s side here as the Terriers are finding their best form again. I see Huddersfield taking the lead early and winning this game comfortably. They are 21/10 to be winning at halftime and fulltime.
Yeovil Town v Preston North End
Home win: 33/20 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 7/5
Betting tip: The Glovers return to Huish Park following their 3-2 defeat at Bury in their last outing and Gary Johnson’s side know it’s their away form that could see them relegated at the end of the season. Johnson’s men picked up an important 2-1 win over Tranmere in their last home game and fans will be hoping for more of the same here. But with Yeovil leaky at the back, PNE will fancy their chances of picking up something this weekend despite having only won once in their last six games. Take odds of 7/4 on there being over 3.5 goals in this as both sides go for the win.
