Friday’s World Cup qualifiers may have put paid to the Premier League jamboree, but the League One and League Two action continues apace with Yeovil Town, Northampton Town and Swindon Town all offering great punts for those seeking a reliable home banker multiple.
Last time out, a draw for League Two leaders Gillingham was all that prevented my tip coming in, but this week I am confident of going one better with a treble offering odds of just over 6/1.
High-flying Yeovil look a top tip to beat a bumbling Bournemouth at Huish Park this Saturday, while Northampton host AFC Wimbledon – arguably the worst team on the road in the country.
Meanwhile, Paolo di Canio’s Swindon Town will be eager to continue their incredible home record and make amends for an away defeat to Preston North End with victory over Leyton Orient.
This treble could prove particularly lucrative for those utilising bwin’s free £20 bet for registering, with winnings of £124.20 available.
With big money at stake, here is why our top trio could all deliver the goods come Saturday.
Yeovil to beat Bournemouth @13/10
Gary Johnson continues to work miracles at Yeovil, who have now won three games in a row in all competitions and sit second in the table, unbeaten after four league games.
Last time out, the Glovers impressed with a 2-1 win over Dean Saunders’ Championship-chasing Doncaster Rovers at Huish Park.
A similar result could be on the cards against an out-of-sorts Bournemouth team that has failed to win this season in the league thus far and come into the game on the back of a 5-3 drubbing by Sheffield United in Yorkshire.
With Yeovil looking up as Bournemouth head down, a home win is well priced at 13/10.
Swindon Town to beat Leyton Orient @ 1/2
Paolo di Canio’s Swindon Town may have had a nightmare away at Preston North End last time out, but the Robins remain an impressive force at the County Ground.
Home form remains key to Swindon’s success, with the team already on a run of three straight wins at home this season after wins against Crawley Town and MK Dons in League One were coupled with a masterful display against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Capital One Cup.
The Robins’ home strength has now seen them go 25 competitive games unbeaten at the County Ground, with 22 wins and three draws recorded during that period.
In contrast, Leyton Orient are in wretched form, having lost each of their last four consecutive games. Away form is a major concern, with Orient claiming just two wins from their last 12 trips. Swindon look good for a win at 1/2.
Northampton to beat AFC Wimbledon @ 29/10
Northampton have enjoyed a steady start to the season, picking up four points from a possible six at home, with five goals scored in their two games at Sixfields.
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd will be confident of extending their success against AFC Wimbledon, with the visitors among the worst travellers in league football at the moment.
The Dons are on a run of four games without a win in all competitions, conceding 15 goals in the process with a 6-2 away loss to Burton Albion and a 5-1 defeat at Bradford City leaving alarm bells ringing at the club.
In fact, AFC Wimbledon have now gone 14 games without a win on the road and that run could well continue against Northampton.
The hosts beat the Dons home and away last season and look good for another win at 29/10.
