Bournemouth are rated as odds-on favourites to pick up all three points when Walsall visit the south coast in League One on Saturday.
The Cherries finished sixth last season, losing to Huddersfield on penalties in the play-off semi-finals, but they boasted the third-best goalscoring record in the division.
This was in stark contrast to Walsall, who narrowly avoided relegation and only won three times on the road in a disappointing campaign on the whole.
The form book appears to suggest a Bournemouth win, then, and bwin’s 3Way football betting market has them at 17/20, with the draw at 23/10 and a Walsall victory at odds of 57/20.
Walsall have had trouble scoring away at Bournemouth in recent times, only managing to notch once from their four trips to Dean Court since August 2005.
The odds on the Saddlers again failing to hit the back of the net on Saturday are 27/20, which offers fantastic value.
Along the same lines, it would also make sense to back Bournemouth to be winning at both half-time and full-time. A £25 stake on this outcome, which is priced at 21/10, would return winnings of £77.50.
However, the meetings between the pair are not generally known for goals, with the scoreline only going over 2.5 goals twice in the last eight clashes – so taking evens on under 2.5 goals looks to be a safe bet.
With all this in mind, the best bets, at least in terms of attractive odds, are either a 1-0 or 2-0 win for Bournemouth, which are priced at 25/4 and 8/1 respectively.
The 2-0 scoreline represents the best value, and a successful £25 free bet – available to new customers who sign up for a bwin account – on this outcome would return £225.
