Mallorca v Sevilla
Home win: 19/10 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 7/5
Betting Tip: Mallorca are struggling at present after a couple of lofty league finishes in previous seasons and a campaign of staving off the drop looks likely. A hammering last weekend at Barcelona shouldn’t be looked into too much but the Islanders have won just one of their last nine and Sevilla will fancy their chances of adding to the woe on Saturday. Sevilla fell to a surprise defeat at home to Granada in the previous round in a match they should have coasted, but they can get back on the horse at the Iberostar Stadium so back a Sevilla win with under 3.5 goals at 21/10.
Real Betis v Malaga
Home win: 33/20 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 33/20
Betting Tip: Betis are in absolute freefall after a strong return to La Liga. They have lost six on the bounce, scoring just twice, and are conceding plenty. With the Seville side’s form and confidence deserting them, back Malaga to strengthen their Champions League chase. Los Boquerones have started off with the inconsistency associated with a hastily pieced together squad but a win last time out against Espanyol should kick-start them into action. Games involving these two invariably have goals at both ends so don’t ignore a Malaga win with over 2.5 goals at 7/2.
Levante v Valencia
Home win: 39/20 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 27/20
Betting Tip: Brave Levante’s stint at the top came to an end last weekend when they were solidly beaten at Osasuna. They had previously won seven in a row and their chances of returning straight back to winning ways won’t be aided by a visit from Valencia. Los Che are unbeaten in their last six league games and have found the goal trail by knocking in three in each of their last two outings. It’s anybody’s guess how Levante will respond to having their bubble burst, but I reckon Valencia will have too much for them either way. Valencia don’t score many on the road so an away win with under 2.5 goals at 4/1 is value.

Real Madrid v Osasuna
Home win: 9/100 Draw: 17/2 Away win: 20/1
Betting Tip: Table-toppers Real are moving smoothly through the gears having won their last nine, scoring 31 and letting in just the one. They generally pummel teams at the Bernabeu and although Osasuna are a grizzly unit capable of stifling teams, they shipped eight at Camp Nou earlier this season and they’ll do well to keep the score down on Sunday. Cristiano Ronaldo is back amongst the goals and he is 9/4 to score two or more, and if you double that up with Lionel Messi to do likewise against Bilbao you can get monstrous odds of 843/100.
Granada v Racing Santander
Home win: 21/20 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 13/5
Betting Tip: Both of these basement dwellers were buoyed by wins last week and in the battle to climb out of the drop zone picking up points against the teams in and around you is crucial. Granada have won one, drawn two and lost two at home, scoring twice and conceding three, so games at the Los Carmenes are tight. A draw therefore looks likely and most profitable at 9/4.
Real Zaragoza v Sporting Gijon
Home win: 11/10 Draw: 9/4 Away win: 5/2
Betting Tip: Neither of these two are in particularly fine fettle so Zaragoza’s strong home form could prove the deciding factor. They’ve won two and drawn one of their five at La Romareda whilst Gijon have lost three of their four away. It should be noted that Zaragoza have lost three on the spin – although two of those were to Atletico and Valencia – and Gijon are unbeaten in three, but Zaragoza can nick a tight one. Zaragoza with under 2.5 goals is well priced at 17/5.
Espanyol v Villarreal
Home win: 4/5 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 7/2
Betting Tip: Espanyol either win or lose having won and lost five and drawn none in their ten league games this season. Prior to last weekend Villarreal just lost, but they arrested their slide with a 2-0 home win over Rayo Vallecano before being well outclassed by Manchester City in midweek. The Yellow Submarine’s plight is not helped by a crippling injury list and with Espanyol’s decent home record – albeit with few goals – have the blanquiblaus to win with under 2.5 goals at 27/10.
Rayo Vallecano v Real Sociedad
Home win: 91/100 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 3/1
Betting Tip: Vallecano are tucked comfortably in mid-table with three wins, three draws and four defeats. They beat Malaga at home two weeks ago but then lost away to struggling Villarreal and their form has generally peaked and troughed all year. Sociedad are lurching towards the bottom places having lost five of their last six with only a 0-0 draw with Getafe breaking the sequence. With not much to entice the Vallecano win at 91/100, plump for the draw at 12/5.
Athletic Bilbao v Barcelona
Home win: 19/2 Draw: 19/4 Away win: 1/4
Betting Tip: Barcelona have rediscovered their swagger after a couple of stodgy shows, banging in nine in their last two games, and they will need to be at their potent best to knock Bilbao out of their comfort zone. The Basque men are unbeaten in nine and Barca have drawn two of their last three games at the San Mames. The champions should have enough to overcome the resistance and a multiple score of 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 to Barca is tastily priced at 29/10.
Getafe v Atletico Madrid
Home win: 2/1 Draw: 12/5 Away win: 5/4
Betting Tip: Atletico have got their act together over the last week with handsome wins over Zaragoza and Udinese but their form on the road will be a concern. In four La Liga away ties they’ve lost three and scored none in picking up a solitary point but they have the perfect opportunity to rectify that against bottom placed Getafe. Spanish U21 hero Adrian Lopez has been in the goals recently and he’s 9/5 to score at any time as Atletico look to break their away duck.
