Hull are still in the hunt for a play-off place following a narrow 2-1 home win over Middlesbrough last time out.
The victory, secured with an 88th minute winner from Matty Fryatt, was only Hull’s third in 15 league games, a run of form which had seen them lose five consecutive matches prior to Monday’s fixture.
Goals have been a major problem for Hull during this sequence, with the Tigers scoring in just two of their last seven league fixtures.
Backing Nicky Barmby’s boys to draw a blank when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday could therefore prove a shrewd bet at odds of 9/5, particularly as the Hornets have kept three clean sheets in their last six matches.
That said, Watford have stumbled slightly of late, dropping points against Blackpool and Cardiff following a run of three consecutive victories.
With home advantage and the Tigers toothless in attack, a Watford success remains the most likely result.
They are available at odds of 5/4 to return to winning ways on Saturday.
If they do manage to pick up all three points then it could be worth betting on them to achieve victory by way of a 2-0 scoreline at odds of 19/2.
Four of Hull’s last five defeats have come by a score of 2-0 and that could well continue against a Hornets team who have scored exactly two goals in their last four league victories.
Regardless of the final result, exactly two goals being scored in this game could be an avenue to pursueat odds of 5/2.
After all, four of Watford’s last five games have seen precisely two goals scored and with Hull matching this record, a repeat could well be on the cards.
Finally, the Tigers may not be in great form, but at odds of 21/10 to win, they remain favourites for this mid-table fixture.
This leaves the draw at 11/5 in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, although with home advantage and the Tigers toothless in attack, a Watford success remains the most likely result.
Hull to fail to score @ 9/5
Exactly two goals scored @ 5/2
Watford to win 2-0 @ 19/2
