Following their 3-3 draw with Leeds United last time out, Blackburn Rovers were once again involved in a goal fest this weekend, coming out on top in an eight-goal thriller at Bristol City, a result that keeps them way ahead in the Championship title winning market, whilst wins for Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff City and Brighton and Hove Albion keeps those clubs at the top of the outright betting.
Blackburn leapfrogged Blackpool to go top of the division, after the latter were held to a 1-1 draw at Barnsley, which has seen Ian Holloway’s men drift slightly to 9/1 in the Championship winning market, and 3/1 to win promotion.
Bolton Wanderers returned to winning ways by beating Watford, making them 7/1 to win the league despite sitting in eleventh place, while Gianfranco Zola’s men are now 40/1 to make the Premier League next season.
Cardiff City’s title odds have gone in to 9/1 following their impressive victory over Leeds United, who themselves are now 14/1 to top the table at the end of play on May 4th.
Leicester City are also 9/1 to finish in first position, despite losing 2-1 at Wolverhampton Wanderers in Sunday’s Championship fixture, while Wolves themselves are a 12/1 chance to repeat their title winning feat of four seasons ago.
Brighton and Hove Albion began Saturday on top of the league following their convincing 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. The Seagulls have gone in to 10/1 to win the league, while Wednesday have drifted to 33/1.
Nottingham Forest, who maintained their unbeaten start in the Championship by coming from two goals down to grab a point against Birmingham City, are 12/1 in the league winners market while the Blues remain a 7/1 shot to win promotion.
Hull City and Middlesbrough also recorded convincing wins at the weekend, and complete the list of runners and riders at title winnings odds of 14/1 and 25/1 respectively.
