Wednesday evening’s game at the City Ground sees Sean O’Driscoll’s Nottingham Forest host a Blackburn Rovers side yet to replace Steve Kean following his resignation last week.
The visitors currently sit in seventh place, having lost just once so far this term, and a win by two goals or more would see them return to the automatic promotion places.
Caretaker manager Eric Black guided Rovers to a 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic last time out and will be hoping to maintain the Championship’s only unbeaten away record.
Colin Kazim-Richards looks set to be available for selection following a knee injury, though Leon Best and Martin Olsson remain sidelined.
Rovers are 37/20 in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, with Forest favourites at a price of 7/5. You can back the draw at 11/5.
Just ten days ago, Forest became the last side in the division to lose their unbeaten league status. However, their narrow defeat to fierce East Midlands rivals Derby County on Sunday, combined with Tuesday’s results, has seen the Reds fall to 19th place.
They will be without the suspended trio of Adlene Guedioura, Simon Cox and Dexter Blackstock, and the absence of the latter two could pave the way for Southampton loanee Billy Sharp to lead the line.
The former Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield United man is the 11/2 favourite to get the first goal of the game, while Jermaine Jenas, who last week returned to Forest ten years after leaving the club, is a 12/1 shot.
The two sides have met just once since they were last in the same division, Blackburn winning 1-0 in a third round League Cup tie at the City Ground back in 2009, which was their fourth victory over Forest in the last five meetings.
A repeat of that 1-0 scoreline is available at 9/1, though given the fact that the visitors have gained an impressive seven points from losing positions so far this season, you might be tempted to back Forest to be leading at half-time, with Blackburn winning the game at the rather generous price of 33/1.
Recommended bet: Billy Sharp first goal @ 11/2
Outside punt: Nott’m Forest half-time/ Blackburn full-time @ 33/1
