As last season’s beaten Championship play-off finalists, Reading were among the favourites to be challenging for promotion again this season.
But the Royals have not had it all their own way so far and currently find themselves in mid-table with the halfway point in the campaign appearing on the horizon.
Brian McDermott’s side have only won one of their last five home games but bwin prices them as 4/5 favourites to pick up maximum points when Peterborough visit the Madejski on Tuesday evening.
It is worth noting that every one of Reading’s winners have come in the second half this season, so consider the halftime/fulltime market if you fancy Reading to win.
The draw/Reading selection looks especially appealing at 4/1, especially as six of their nine home games have been level at the interval.
Amazingly, the Berkshire club have yet to hit the back of the net before half-time in front of their own fans, while there have been just three goals scored by away sides in that time.
Odds of 11/10 that the second half will have more goals than the first merit interest, then, while Reading are priced at 27/20 to score more after the break than before it.
Posh arrive at the Madejski looking to find some form of their own as they have only won once in their last six games in the Championship.
Amazingly, the Berkshire club have yet to hit the back of the net before half-time in front of their own fans, while there have been just three goals scored by away sides in that time.
Boss Darren Ferguson will also be aware that they have only picked up one point on their last three away days and will be anxious for that run to stop here. They are 7/2 to pick up a valuable victory.
Games involving the side from London Road have averaged over 3.5 goals and you can get odds of 33/20 on that trend continuing here.
Peterborough have only taken the lead twice in their nine games on the road so look to the run of play market if you think Posh will pick up a result of some kind.
If you fancy them to draw, take the lead-draw selection at 17/5 and should you think Ferguson’s side will take all three points, take lead-lose at 25/4 for a very healthy return.
Peterborough have come from behind in their last two Championship outings to rescue a point and with the draw at 23/10, new customers who stake their free £25 bet on a stalemate could walk away with £82.50 if Posh leave Reading with a share of the spoils.
