Portsmouth came close to a valuable three points at Blackpool at the weekend but still find themselves down in 17th place in the Championship.
They are ten points off the relegation places but will still have one eye over their shoulder in the final run in.
Pompey’s home form is pretty good and their 1-0 defeat against West Ham last time out was their first home defeat in nine matches.
In that eight match unbeaten run they dropped just four points – and only then against Leicester City and Southampton – so a home win at 13/10 is certainly not out of the question. The draw can be backed at 11/5 and Ipswich are at 2/1.
The last six meetings have seen both teams NOT score and five of those were won to nil (two by Ipswich and three by Portsmouth).
Ipswich are a point further back from Portsmouth in the league and a 3-2 win against Coventry last time out ended a run of four away defeats on the bounce and five without a win.
On the road the Tractor Boys have scored six goals in their last four games so both teams to score must appeal at odds of 7/10. Or so you would think…
The last six meetings have seen both teams NOT score and five of those were won to nil (two by Ipswich and three by Portsmouth). At least one of the teams not to score is a 21/20 chance.
And taking Portmouth’s strong record at Fratton Park into account, a home win to nil looks appealing at 29/10.
That said, with a home win at 13/10, it could yet be worth sticking to bwin’s 3Way football betting market.
