Middlesbrough have started the season in impressive fashion, establishing themselves as one of the early promotion contenders.
But I think if you’re looking for a cheeky punt on their game against Ipswich a draw could be the way to go at 5/2, and here’s why.
Firstly, a successful £25 free bet on the draw would leave you with £87.50, which is certainly a tidy return.
Secondly, two teams with inferior records to Ipswich so far this season have managed to come away from the north-east with something to show for their efforts.
Middlesbrough have only won once at the Riverside having been held twice at home by distinctly average sides in Portsmouth and Coventry. Ipswich are therefore more than capable of following in their footsteps.
Town’s cause is also helped by the fact that, like Middlesbrough, they have players in a rich vein of goalscoring form at their disposal.
As such, we could see a few goals, especially as Ipswich have only kept one clean sheet this season.
Marvin Emnes of Boro and Keith Andrews of Ipswich are both high in the scoring charts and will be looking to add to their totals. Emnes in particular will fancy his chances given Ipswich centre-back Ibrahima Sonko is likely to be missing through injury.
With this in mind, a high-scoring draw appears likely and at 12/1, a 2-2 result looks a good bet.
A successful £25 free bet on Middlesbrough to draw 2-2 with Ipswich would return £325.

And for those not yet convinced, bear in mind that Boro have already been held to a 2-2 draw this season against Portsmouth and that Tony Mowbray’s men have yet to keep a clean sheet at the Riverside this season.
Middlesbrough and Ipswich shared a 3-3 draw last season as well, with this more adventurous option available at 50/1.
